Awang Selected as Distinguished Scholar for International Educational Forum

Dr. Faridah Awang, Professor of Corporate Communication and Technology in EKU's School of Business, has been invited as Distinguished Scholar and Guest Speaker for an international educational forum to be held in Malaysia.

EKU Students Attend IMA Leadership Conference

On November 10-12, 2016, six EKU students attended the Institute of Management Accountants Student Leadership Conference (IMA SLC) in Detroit, Mich. The conference is an annual event that offers opportunities for tours of local industries, workshop sessions, and networking. This year’s conference was attended by over 700 students, faculty members, and industry representatives.

Dr. Marcel Robles, Professor of Corporate Communication and Technology in EKU's School of Business, has been elected President of the Association for Research in Business Education (ARBE). Founded in 1936 as a professional national honorary society dedicated to research in business education.

Scholar Athlete: Erik Lindwall

Erik Lindwall

Scholar athlete and General Business major Erik Lindwall has earned top honors in the Arnold Palmer Cup Rankings for the fall. Lindwall, a sophomore men's golfer from Soderkoping, Sweden, is the 22nd ranked European playing collegiate golf in the United States, according to the final Arnold Palmer Cup Rankings of the fall.

Tipton Receives National Business Education Association Award of Merit

Tina L. Tipton from Pineville, Ky., was selected to receive the National Business Education Association (NBEA) Award of Merit for outstanding achievement in business education.

The NBEA Professional Awards Program is conducted by the national organization to recognize young educators for their high academic standards.

EKU's Jones Cup Team Places Fourth in National Championship

Congratulations to EKU’s Professional Golf Management Program on their 4th Place finish at the Jones Cup Tournament in Port Saint Lucie, Fla., November 1-2, 2016. EKU shot a two-day team total of 603 (303-300), marking the highest finish to date for the Colonels.

EKU Students Give Forward to Help Classmates in Need

Thirty-six marketing principles students in Dr. Lee Allison’s class, created a Giveforward marketing campaign to aid two of their classmates. A devastating fire left Colton Scurry and Bryson Williams without home or possessions just prior to Homecoming.  While the two students were not physically harmed, they lost everything.

EKU Accounting Hosts Becker CPA Exam Review

On Friday, November 4, 2016, EKU Accounting hosted a CPA exam workshop. The workshop was jointly sponsored by the Kentucky Society of CPAs and Becker Professional Education. Thirty-one accounting students from EKU, Berea College, and Sullivan University participated in the workshop.
