"The Business Of..." Lecture Series Inaugural Session

Drura Parrish addresses students in Rogow Auditorium

April 17, 2019 was the inaugural The Business of…Lecture Seriessponsored by EKUs School of Business and The Center for Economic Development Entrepreneurship & Technology (CEDET).  This series focuses on highlighting the intersection of business disciplines, such as management, marketing, finance, accounting, information systems, corporate communication, risk management – with the STEM and Liberal Arts disciplines.

The Keynote speaker for this section of the lecture series was Drura Parrish. Drura is the Executive Vice President of Platform for Xometry, the largest on-demand platform that provides access to global machine shops for custom Drura speaks to students after presentationmanufacturing.  Drura is also an incredibly successful entrepreneur and thought leader in digital fabrication, design, and object-based economics.  In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Drura has taught graduate design and digital fabrication at leading design schools and continues to lecture and conduct workshops on design, digital fabrication, and entrepreneurship.

Drura spoke to EKU students about his successes, but more importantly inspired young minds to capitalize on their education by bring creativity and innovation into the workplace no matter their position. Additionally, he provided advice for students first starting out in the workforce and helpful tips.

He concluded his lecture by meeting students and taking their resumés for consideration in filling open positions in his company.
