College of Business Assurance of Learning Day
College of Business faculty met on EKU Assurance of Learning Day, Friday, October 1, 2021. After a brief update on the AACSB Global Accreditation Conference, faculty members heard from the Strategic Planning Committee. In follow-up to earlier faculty discussion of the proposed strategic plan, the Committee focused on explaining the revisions based upon faculty feedback regarding the mission and vision statements. The current draft of the mission, vision, values, and goals were voted on and unanimously approved in principle by faculty; the Strategic Planning Committee can now begin writing a draft narrative for the College of Business strategic plan.
Discussion then turned to a review of the most recent results for the Major Field Test (MFT), a nationally-normed knowledge test. Faculty members then reviewed the revised learning goals and business core courses in which the goals are introduced, reinforced, and assessed. The morning concluded with discussion and ideation regarding assessment.
For afternoon sessions, faculty in each program met to further discuss program-specific MFT results; review Co-op survey results for the program learning outcomes, as well as other available assessment data; consider meaningful changes that should be implemented; and develop plans for curriculum revision and other impactful changes as needed.
