Scholar Athletes: de la Llera and Alvaro Make Doubles Run at ITA Regionals

Eastern Kentucky University School of Business scholar athletes performed well at the recent ITA Regional Championships hosted by Vanderbilt University.

Doubles team of senior Juanjo de la Llera (Barcelona, Spain) and junior Alex Alvaro (Madrid, Spain) advanced from the round of 64 all the way to the quarterfinals.

Sophomore Sebastian Mueller (Leverkusen, Germany) also had a solid showing with his doubles partner.  In singles, Mueller was the only Colonel to notch a first-round win in the main draw. He defeated Tennessee's Bartosz Sawicki, 6-4, 6-2. Alvaro and junior Florian Graskamp (Geseke, Germany) each rallied with a victory in the consolation bracket.
